Oh wait, sorry I’ve been watching too much of THAT 70’S SHOW…
HELLO HELO FAM….
Tonight I wanted to talk to you about every day squatting. You all know how important good habits are yet we sometimes forget them.
Do you ever watch kids, even babies, that are starting to move and they go to pick something up and you are like – wow, look at that squat? That’s me all the time.
It’s crazy how we don’t teach kids how to squat down and pick something up yet they are already ingrained to do it the correct way. As we grow older we start to become more sedentary and begin to sit on couches, in cars, chairs, etc. instead of sitting on the ground and playing like children do. Like the old saying goes “if you don’t use it, you lose it” and in this case it’s the same. The less often you use correct form the more likely you are to not use it.
With that in mind, over the next few weeks (or for the rest of your life), I would like you to pay close attention to how you’re moving in your every day lives, not just in the gym. If you drop your keys on the floor instead of bending over to pick them up, try squatting down. There are tons of examples that I could give you but you see what I’m getting at. Engrain that good form and see how much your body will thank you!
